Samuel Cotton and Lydia Bates
' 316th anniversary is today, married in 1695.  This is one of those situations that if not for the death of Samuel's first spouse Lydia Bates, none of us would exist.  You know, the butterfly effect.  Lydia Bates was born in 1673 in Chelmsford, MA.  She married Samuel Cotton, the boys' 8th great-grandfather July 22, 1695 in Chelmsford.  They begot 7 children from 1697 to 1713.  Ebenezer Cotton was born some time in 1713 but I suspect that it was just before September 9th, because that is when Lydia died.  With 6 children (one other died very young) all under the age of 16, Samuel apparently needed some help.  He married Experience Hall (8 years his junior) February 28, 1716 in Middletown, , Connecticut where Experience was born.  They had 4 more children of their own, with their second child, William Cotton, being the boys' 7th great-grandfather making all of this possible. As an interesting side bar, William Cotton married Rebeckah Ward, his 2nd cousin in 1742.

Ebenezer Cotton, Jr.
died 246 years ago today in 1765 at the age of 22 in Middletown, Connecticut.  Ebenezer is the boys' 1/2 1st cousin 7 times removed.  His father is 1/2 7th great-granduncle, Ebenezer Cotton, Sr., the 1/2 brother of William Cotton via their common father Samuel Cotton.  Samuel married William's mother Experience Hall after his first wife, and Ebenezer's mother, Lydia Bates died in 1713.

Kenneth Wendell Wooden
died 5 years ago today in 2006 in Cassville, Barry, MO at age 82.  He is buried where he was born, in Appleton City, St. Clair, MO. Kenneth is the boys' 1st cousin twice removed.  He married Lillis Biles in the 1940's and had twins that died in 1946 and Kenetta Wooden, a girl that also died at birth in 1948.  Finally they begot Kay Marlene Ferguson in 1951.  Kay is the boys' 2nd cousin once removed.  Kay has been married twice.  The first time to Jim Lockerby in 1970.  They had two children, Loey Rana Lockerby in 1971 and David Joseph Lockerby in 1976.  Loey is a movie critic for the newspaper in Kansas City, Kansas and isn't married.  David married Angela McClain in June of 2000 and they have a boy named Riley Charles Lockerby, born in 2005.  David works for a custom metal shelving company in Houston Lake, MO.  Loey and David are the boys' 3rd cousin and David's son Riley is the boys' 3rd cousin once removed.

Jacob C. Le Fevre
died 115 years ago today in Marion, Iowa at age 63.  Jacob is the boys' 1st cousin 5 times removed.  The son of Isaac Le Fevre and Mary Cooper.  Isaac is the brother of  Marry Magdelaine Le Fevre, the boys' 4th great-grandmother who married James Johnson from Kentucky March 4th 1824 in Salem IN.  They begot 10 children, the 5th being, Amanda Johnson in 1833 who married Andrew J. Wooden, the boys' 3rd great-grandfather.  Andrew and Amanda begot Joseph R. Wooden in 1860 and Joseph married Margaret Jennie Stanford October 29, 1884 in IL.  They begot Walter William Wooden, the boys' great grandfather and Leroy Oliver Wooden, the boys great-granduncle.  Leroy married Bessie A. Wolfe and they begot Carl K. Wooden and the next gentleman, Kenneth Wendell Wooden.

Joseph P. Starling
